When Pantone announced two colours as their 2016 Colour the Year, I must admit that my first impressions of Rose Quartz and Serenity were – baby showers, baby nurseries & handkerchiefs of dainty grannies; i.e. nothing which I could relate to nor draw inspiration from. Personally, I’m drawn more to stronger, more “solid” colours. Not one to follow trends just for the sake of it, for me interior styling is all projecting your personality into your living/working space. But it also allows for flexibility & keeping an open mind to experimentation. After all as we evolve and grow in life through experiences, so too do our tastes and sensibilities. Admittedly, Rose Quartz is a pretty pale pink that has grown on me as an interior accent. And it works really well. I’ve seen some really stylish applications of rose quartz in throw pillows, linens, wall colors, and even accent chairs. Anyway, below is a selection of some room setups I’ve bookmarked. I’d love to hear if & how your incorporated these two colours into your space this year. Leave a comment below! xo
